Las Vegas Wranglers Captain Peter Ferraro Nets Hat Trick to Lead Team Past Stockton Thunder

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Wranglers® defeated the Stockton Thunder 5-1 in front of 4,413 fans on Tuesday night at the Orleans Arena. Captain Peter Ferraro scored three goals for his first hat trick of the season. Center Tyler Mosienko set up three goals and Ryan Donally added two assist as the Wranglers finished the season series with Stockton at 7-1-1. Goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 33 of 34 Stockton shots in the victory, improving to 13-4-3. Forwards Kelly Czuy and Josh Sciba also scored in the win. The Wranglers will host Bakersfield on Friday at 7:05 pm.
 
In the first period, the Wranglers jumped out to a 3-0 lead with two goals by Ferraro and one by Kelly Czuy. Ferraro scored his 27th goal of the season at 8:10 for the 1-0 Las Vegas lead. He added his second tally of the night and 28th of the season just 1:56 later for the 2-0 Las Vegas lead. Left wing Kelly Czuy finished off a feed from Brandon Kaleniecki at 13:35 for the 3-0 Las Vegas lead.
 
In the second period, Ferraro capped off his hat trick. The veteran winger carried the puck out from behind the Stockton net and snapped it under the cross bar for his 29th goal of the season. Mosienko and Donally each assisted on the goal at 18:00, giving Las Vegas a 4-0 lead.

The Thunder spoiled Kevin Lalande’s shutout bid, scoring 3:54 into the final period as Frederick Johansen scored his second goal of the season. The Wranglers ended the night with a power-play goal by Josh Sciba at 18:43 for the 5-1 final.
 
Las Vegas will continue a nine-game home stand by hosting Bakersfield on Friday and Phoenix on Saturday. Both games start at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
