The Halifax, Nova Scotia, native tallied 20 goals in 16 games during the regular season and closed out the 2007-08 campaign on a 10-game goal scoring streak, matching Rocky Mountain’s Daymen Rycroft for the longest streak of the season.
ADVERTISEMENTThe former NHL second round draft pick (40th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens has scored in seven-straight postseason games, one game shy of tying the all-time CHL playoff record for consecutive games with a goal. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward leads all players with 10 goals during the playoffs.
Dating back to the regular season, his 17-game goal scoring streak is the longest in CHL history combining both the regular and postseason, and is more than any other goal streak ever posted in the NHL, AHL and ECHL.
The NHL record is 16 games held by Punch Broadbent who scored 27 goals during his streak while playing for Ottawa (1921-22), and the AHL record is 14 games held by Brett Hull who scored 19 goals over his streak while playing with Moncton (1986-87). The ECHL record is held by Darren Schwartz who notched 25 goals in 16 games while with Wheeling (1992-93). Urquhart has collected 26 goals during his current streak.
