Manitoba Moose Center Brad Moran Announced as the AHL Player of the Month for March

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Manitoba Moose center Brad Moran has been named the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for March. Moran tallied five goals and 16 assists for 21 points in 13 games to help the Moose to a 10-1-0-2 record last month.

Moran assisted on both Manitoba goals in a 2-1 win over Quad City on Mar. 2, then began his current nine-game scoring streak with an assist on the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory at Hamilton on Mar. 9. Moran also recorded seven consecutive multiple-point games from Mar. 15-28, beginning with a two-goal effort in a 5-0 win at Hershey. He tallied the game-winner in a 3-2 decision over San Antonio on Mar. 19 and had back-to-back three-point nights against San Antonio on Mar. 20 (1g, 2a) and Lake Erie on Mar. 25 (3a). Moran was named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Mar. 30.
In recognition of his achievement, Moran will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Moose home game.

Moran ranks sixth in the American Hockey League with 72 points (21 goals, 51 assists) in 67 games for Manitoba in 2007-08, matching his career high for points in a season. The native of Abbotsford, B.C., has registered 144 goals and 241 assists for 385 points in 470 games with Manitoba and Syracuse over seven AHL seasons, and has also picked up one goal and two assists in eight career NHL games.
Other nominees for CCM/AHL Player of the Month include Albany goaltender Michael Leighton, Binghamton center Alexander Nikulin, Bridgeport center Colton Fretter, Chicago right wing Darren Haydar, Grand Rapids center Darren Helm, Hartford right wing Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau, Houston center Marco Rosa, Lake Erie right wing Brad Richardson, Lowell left wing Ryan Murphy, Manchester right wing Teddy Purcell, Milwaukee center Jason Guerriero, Peoria forward Jean-Guy Trudel, Philadelphia right wing Boyd Kane, Portland center Geoff Platt, Providence center Matt Hendricks, Quad City center Grant Stevenson, Rochester left wing Dylan Hunter, Rockford center Petri Kontiola, Syracuse center Zenon Konopka, Toronto left wing Colin Murphy, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton goaltender John Curry and Worcester forward Tom Cavanagh.
