Three Regina Pats Players Receive League Awards - WHL

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Calgary, Alberta – The Western Hockey League handed out their  annual awards Wednesday afternoon at the 2008 WHL Awards Luncheon.  The Regina Pats had three players named to the Eastern Conference  All-Star team, as goaltender Linden Rowat, defencemen Logan Pyett  and forward Jordan Eberle were all named as 1st Team All-stars. 
 
 
 
 Rowat the native of Cocharane, AB emerged this season as one of the  WHL’s top netminders, leading the Pats to their first Division  Pennant in 10 years. Rowat posted a record of 33-15-4-2, to go  along with a goals-against average of 2.68 and a save percentage of . 904. The 2007 5th round NHL draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings, was  also the Eastern Conference nominee for Del Wilson Trophy, which is  given out to the WHL Goaltender of the Year. 
 
 
 
 Pats captain, Logan Pyett added two International events to his  resume this year as the 19 year old defencemen took part in the  Canada/Russia Super Series at the end of August, as well as  capturing a Gold Medal at the World Junior Championships over  Christmas. The native of Milestone, SK notched 20 goals and added  34 assists to go along with a +24 rating, in 62 games this year with  the Pats. Pyett, the 7th round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings  in 2006, finished 4th among WHL defencemen in scoring this past  season. 
 
 
 
 Eberle the product of Regina, SK played in his second full season in  the WHL this season. Eberle played in 70 games, scoring 42 goals  and adding 33 assists for 75 points. During his two years in Regina,  the former 7th round bantam draft pick has scored 70 goals and  collected 130 points in 136 regular season games. Eberle finished  the season ranked 5th in the WHL in goals and 2nd in game winning  goals with 9.
