Boston Bruins Select Five Skaters in 2008 NHL Entry Draft
Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 10:23AM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has made five selections on day two of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, tabbing center Maxime Sauve, goaltender Michael Hutchinson, center/winger Jamie Arniel, center Nicholas Tremblay, and center Mark Goggin.

Maxime Sauve, a 6-0, 170 lb. centerman from Tours, France. Sauve began
the 2007-08 season with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior
Hockey League and played in 38 games, scoring 12-20-32 totals. A
December 17, 2007 trade sent him to Halifax where he was immediately
re-routed to Val-d'Or, also of the QMJHL. There, he finished the season
with 14 goals, 19 assists, and 33 points while playing in 32 games with
Val-d'Or.

and one assist. Sauve's cousin Philippe played briefly in the Bruins
organization as a goaltender in 2006-2007, including two relief

on the Quebec Nordiques from 1984-1986.
Hutchinson, a goaltender from the Barrie Colts of the OHL. In
2007-2008, he played in 31 regular season contests and totaled 950 saves
for a 3.02 goals against average and 0.912 save percentage. He appeared
in eight postseason games, averaging 44 saves-per-game in their
first-round series versus the Brampton Battalion, and recorded an
overall playoff save percentage of 0.941.

in the fourth round. With the 97th pick, the Bruins selected center
Jamie Arniel from the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. In the 2007-2008 season,
he split time between the Guelph Storm and Sarnia Sting, playing in 20
games for Guelph with 9-4-13 totals, and finishing the year with Sarnia.
There he notched 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 total points. His 27
regular season goals were enough to rank him third overall on the Sting.
He also played in the 2008 CHL Top Prospects game, where he notched a
goal, and skated for Team Canada at the 2007 World Under-18 Hockey
Championship. Like Sauve, Arniel has NHL bloodlines, as his uncle Scott
Arniel played in 730 games in the NHL for Winnipeg, Buffalo and Boston
during the 80s and early 90s. He played 29 games for Boston during the
1991-1992 season.
Nicholas Tremblay with their fifth pick, 173rd overall. Tremblay spent
the 2007-08 season with the Smith's Falls Bears of the CJHL where he was
the league's leading scorer with 51-59-110 totals in only 57 games.
Prior to this season, Tremblay played for two years in the QJAHL for the
Champlain Cougars, totaling 39 goals and 48 assists for 87 points. He
will enroll at Clarkson University this fall.
197th overall. He was recently selected to Team USA's U-18 team for the
Ivan Hlinka Memorial Ice Hockey Tournament. Goggin plays his prep
school hockey for Choate-Rosemary Hall (Wallingford, CT), and is
committed to Dartmouth for the fall of 2009.
