Milwaukee Admirals Drop 2-0 Game to Abbotsford Heat - AHL

Milwaukee, WI– The Milwaukee Admirals dropped their third straight game against the Abbotsford Heat in a 2-0 defeat Wednesday evening at the Bradley Center.  The Ads were 0-4 on the power play and Heat goaltender Leland Irving turned twenty-six shots in the shutout.  Milwaukee netminder Mark Dekanich turned away eighteen Abbotsford shots, but the Heat were able to score a goal in the first and second periods.

The Ads continued a disturbing trend as they allowed the first goal of the game in the seventh of eight games this season.  The Heat’s first goal came when Kris Chucko skated just beneath the goal line and sent the puck to the the net; the puck banked off of Dekanich’s skate and crossed the goal line.  The goal was assisted by David Van der Gulik and Gord Baldwin with 7:03 left in the first.

Abbotsford’s second tally came at 2:04 in the second stanza as Carsen Germyn lifted the stick of Admirals defender Scott Ford, stole the puck, and beat Dekanich high glove side for an unassisted talley.

Milwaukee had a golden opportunity to cut the lead in half with a 5-on-3 power play for 46 seconds  in the second.  However, the Admirals hit the post once and were unable to convert on the two man advantage.  In a last ditch effort at the end of the game the Ads pulled Dekanich for the extra attacker for close to two minutes, but were never able to get any real scoring opportunities.

The Admirals are back in action on Friday night when they host the Rockford IceHogs at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center.  Two lucky fans will each win a pair of tickets to the Green Bay-Minnesota football game for Sunday, November 1 in Green Bay.
