Bakersfield Condors Undefeated to Start Lengthy Homestand
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 02:30AM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com-Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors rolled to a 4-0-0 week to start their six-game homestand, including a three-game weekend sweep of the Alaska Aces and a shootout victory over the Ontario Reign on the annual Field Trip Day Game. The two remaining games on the homestand are this weekend against Las Vegas.
The Condors are 12-6-0 with 24 points in the standings, and widened their lead in the Pacific Division to six points over second place Ontario.

Bakersfield participated in their first shootout game of the season on Wednesday, prevailing against Ontario, 4-3. RW Stephane Goulet had two assists in regulation and scored in the shootout to help pace the victory. All three shooters scored for the Condors, while G Timo Pielmeier (right) stopped all three Reign shooters to seal the win. D Eric Regan, F Mathieu Aubin and C Adam Naglich all scored in regulation for the Condors.

CONDORS 6 vs. Alaska 2 Condors.TV
D Sasha Pokulok scored twice and RW Dan Sexton had three assists to carry the Condors to a 6-2 win over Alaska on Friday night. Bakersfield scored twice in each period, while G Justin Pogge kept the Aces off the board for the final 41-plus minutes. The Condors held Alaska to just 18 shots on goal in the game, and scored four times on the power play to take the win.

CONDORS 7 vs. Alaska 4
RW Dan Sexton had three goals for the first Condors hat trick of the regular season, and F Mathieu Aubin scored twice to lead the Condors to their fifth straight win on home ice. Bakersfield held a commanding 6-1 lead after two periods of play, and their penalty kill was perfect on 10 Aces power plays on the night. The Condors scored four goals in the first period alone, chasing Aces G Scott Reid after scoring twice in just 2:24 of play.

Sunday, Nov. 22

RW Dan Sexton scored twice and G Timo Pielmeier made 23 saves for his sixth win of the season as the Condors swept the weekend set with a 4-2 win on Sunday. F Mathieu Aubin and Team Captain LW Shawn Weller also lit the lamp for the Condors, who ran their home winning streak to six games.
PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
RW Dan Sexton posted 5g-4a in three weekend games. He was the Condors nominee for the ECHL Player of the Week for the third time in six weeks, and climbed from 11th to 4th in ECHL scoring.
Bakersfield has recorded a shorthanded goal in four straight games - with Sexton scoring two and both LW Shawn Weller and C Adam Naglich scoring one each.
The Condors are 2nd in the ECHL on the penalty kill, at 87.4% on the season. The team record is 85.9%, set in 2002-03.
C Adam Naglich scored his first professional goal on Wednesday, and followed it up with a goal on Friday that gave him a three-game point streak (2g-1a).
F Mathieu Aubin, who missed seven games on IR from Oct. 31 - Nov. 14, returned to the lineup on Wednesday and registered his first goal of the season. He had a point in all four games on the week, totaling 4g-3a.
RW Stephane Goulet (right) also has a four-game point streak, putting up 2g-5a on the week after sitting out the trip to Alaska last weekend.
The Condors have had several series sweeps against the Aces, but never in a three-game series. It was the first time since the 2002-03 season the Condors had won three consecutive regular season meetings against the Aces.
