Anton Khudobin Records Shutout For Houston Aeros In 1-0 Win Over Hamilton Bulldogs

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -HAMILTON, ON – The Houston Aeros (11-10-1-0) opened up a three-game road trip with a 1-0 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs (11-6-1-3) in front of 2,485 at Copps Coliseum Wednesday. F Jean-Michel Daoust scored the lone goal of the game for Houston and G Anton Khudobin (9-4-0) saved all 26 shots faced to record his league-leading fourth shutout of the season. Bulldogs G Cedrick Desjardins (4-4-1) tallied 24 saves to get saddled with the loss.
Neither team was able to light the lamp through two periods as the Aeros fought off four Hamilton power plays. Daoust would finally break the deadlock early in the third period. D Maxim Noreau sent a shot on net from the center point that would rebound to the stick of Daoust who beat Desjardins at the 1:09 mark for a power play goal; C Nathan Smith would get credit for the second assist.
Khudobin recorded his third straight road shutout extending his shutout streak to 206:09 away from Toyota Center. The Aeros’ top-ranked penalty kill again held strong going 4-for-4 while the power play unit went 1-for-4 on the man advantage. Hamilton would hold the advantage in shots on goal 26-25. The win is just the second for Houston in its last six games, both 1-0 victories.
