Quad City Flames Beat Bloomington PrairieThunder 5-3 - IHL

MOLINE, Ill. – Quad City scored two goals in the third period to earn a 5-3 International Hockey League victory over the Bloomington PrairieThunder before 3,883 people Saturday at the i wireless Center.
The loss dropped the PrairieThunder’s record to 9-5-1-2 and 21 points. Quad City improved to 4-7-2-1 (11 points). Bloomington returns to action Sunday with a 4:05 p.m. home contest at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against Dayton.
Patrick Levesque gave the Mallards a 1-0 lead with 14:52 remaining in the first period on an unassisted goal. Jesse Dudas tied the game for the PrairieThunder on a power play goal with 13 minutes to go in the first period off assists by Jon Booras and Jason Lepine.
Chris Lipsett found the net five minutes later on the power play with assists to Juris Stals and Mike Zbriger. But the PrairieThunder evened things again on Booras’ unassisted goal with 24 seconds left in the first period.
Both teams found the net once in the second period. The PrairieThunder struck first on a Robin Gomez with assists to Brett Holmberg and Booras. Stals tied the game with 4:12 remaining in the period on a power play with assists to Justin White and Ryan Fultz.
Brandon Marino scored what proved to be the winning goal with 12:25 left in the third period off assists by Obi Aduba and A.J. Bozoian. Fultz added the final goal with 1:48 remaining with assists to White and Stals.
Kyle Jones was the winning goalie, stopping 31 of 34 shots. Andrew Martin took the loss for Bloomington in net after pushing aside 22 of 27 shots.
