ECHL This Week: The ECHL Takes a Team-by-Team Look at the League, Broken Down by Division

Cincinnati
• Cyclones lead the ECHL on the power play with 44.4 percent (4-for-9).
• Defenseman Bryan Schmidt had four points (1g-3a) in a 5-4 win at Dayton on Oct. 20.
• Cincinnati hosts Trenton on Friday and Saturday before playing at Dayton on Sunday.

Dayton
• Rookie Ryan Smyth scored his first professional goal and added another goal in 5-4 loss to Cincinnati on Oct. 20.
• Dayton had 7,801 in attendance for opening night.
• Bombers play at Wheeling on Saturday and host Cincinnati on Sunday.

Elmira
• Jackals beat Wheeling 4-2 in their ECHL debut on Oct. 19.
Pierre-Luc Faubert scored first professional goal and had an assist at Trenton on Oct. 20.
• Elmira hosts Johnstown on Friday and South Carolina on Sunday.

Johnstown
• Coach Ian Herbers won his first ECHL game 4-2 at Trenton on Oct. 21.
• Chiefs tied ECHL season high with four power-play goals in 6-4 loss to Reading on Oct. 20.
• Johnstown hosts South Carolina on Wednesday and Saturday and visits Elmira on Friday.

Reading
• Reading had ECHL season high 48 shots in a 3-2 loss at Trenton on Oct. 19.
Patrick Jarrett leads the team with four assists and four points.
• Royals play at Pensacola on Wednesday and Friday, at Mississippi on Saturday and at Gwinnett on Sunday.

Trenton
• Trenton improved to 7-2-0 in home openers with 3-2 win over Reading on Oct. 19.
Joe Rooney leads ECHL rookies with five points (2g-3a).
• Devils play at Cincinnati on Friday and Saturday.

Wheeling
David Brown made 43 saves in first pro start, a 4-2 win at Johnstown.
• Wheeling’s road power play is sixth in ECHL at 15.8 percent (3-for-19).
• Nailers host South Carolina on Friday and Dayton on Saturday.

South Division

Augusta
• Opening night crowd of 3,894 was larger than any single-game crowd last season.
Louis Goulet has 220 points (76g-144a) and needs one point to become Lynx's all-time leading scorer.
• Augusta plays at Charlotte on Tuesday, at Columbia on Friday and at Gwinnett on Saturday.

Charlotte
• Checkers are 3-for-18 (16.7 percent) on the power play in two games.
Blake Bellefeuille leads the team with three assists and five points.
• Charlotte hosts Augusta on Tuesday and plays at Columbia on Saturday.

Columbia
Brad Ralph had hat trick at South Carolina on Oct. 20 and is tied for ECHL lead with four goals.
Jeff Miles (1g-2a) and Owen Fussey (1g-2a) are tied for second on team with three points.
• Inferno plays at Augusta on Friday and at Charlotte on Saturday.

Florida
• Everblades power play is second in the ECHL at 35.3 percent (6-for-17).
Derek Damon leads the team with three assists and four points in two games.
• Florida plays at Texas on Saturday and Sunday.

Gwinnett
Jeff Campbell tied team record with four assists at Pensacola on Oct. 19.
• Gwinnett is tied for ECHL lead with six power-play goals after scoring league record 120 in 2006-07.
• Gladiators host Augusta on Friday and Reading on Saturday.

Mississippi
Torry Gajda leads the team with two assists and two points.
• Rookie Pat Oliveto and Lance Monych each have a goal.
• Mississippi hosts Reading on Saturday and Pensacola on Sunday.

Pensacola
• Rookie Mathieu Roy has a two-game goal streak (2g).
• Rookie defenseman Jean-Claude Sawyer had first multi-point game (1g-1a) on Oct. 19.
• Ice Pilots host Reading on Wednesday and Friday before playing at Mississippi on Sunday.

South Carolina
• Stingrays have nine goals, scored by nine different players, in two games.
• Rookies Paul McIlveen and Pierre-Luc O'Brien lead the team with three assists.
• South Carolina plays at Johnstown on Wednesday and Saturday and visits Wheeling on Friday and Elmira on Sunday.

Texas
• Wildcatters are tied for fourth in the ECHL with five power-play goals in two games.
Marco Rosa has four special team points (1g-3a) in two games.
• Texas hosts Florida on Saturday and Sunday.

West Division

Alaska
• Alaska opens the season on Tuesday at Fresno.
Kimbi Daniels led the Aces with 63 assists and 81 points in 2006-07.
• Aces play at Fresno on Tuesday and Friday while visiting Bakersfield on Wednesday and Stockton on Saturday.

Idaho
• In first three seasons in Idaho, coach Derek Laxdal is 10-1-1 in October.
Mark Bomersback leads ECHL rookies with three goals in two games.
• Idaho plays at Utah on Friday and Saturday.

Phoenix
• Phoenix is 3-0-0 for the first time in their three-year ECHL history.
Daniel Sisca leads Phoenix with four goals and six points.
• RoadRunners host Stockton on Wednesday and Bakersfield on Friday.

Utah
• Grizzlies’ roster has six players who are 22 years old or younger.
Ryan Kinasewich (1g-1a) and Scott Burt (0g-2a) lead the team with two points.
• Utah hosts Idaho on Friday and Saturday.

Victoria
Julien Ellis stopped 35 shots in 2-1 overtime win at defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho.
• Victoria’s 2-1 overtime win at Idaho on Oct. 19 was its first season-opening win.
• Salmon Kings host Las Vegas on Friday and Saturday.

Pacific Division

Bakersfield
• Condors had 12,546 in attendance for opening weekend.
Mark Derlago scored his first professional goal in a 3-2 win against Stockton on Oct. 19.
• Bakersfield hosts Alaska on Wednesday and plays at Phoenix on Friday and at Fresno on Saturday.

Fresno
• Fresno does not have an even-strength goal in its first two games.
Oren Eizenman scored his first professional goal in 2-1 loss to Las Vegas on Oct. 19.
• Falcons host Alaska on Tuesday and Friday and Bakersfield on Saturday.

Las Vegas
• Wranglers have won their last 15 regular season games, dating back to Mar. 10.
• Twin brothers Chris Ferraro (1g-2a) and Peter Ferraro (1g-2a) lead the team in scoring.
• Las Vegas hosts Stockton on Tuesday and plays at Victoria on Friday and Saturday.

Stockton
Jesse Bennefield and Brad Farynuk each have a goal and an assist in two games.
• Rookie goaltender Glenn Fisher made 29 saves in his professional debut on Oct. 21.
• Thunder play at Las Vegas on Tuesday and at Phoenix on Wednesday before hosting Alaska on Saturday.
