Daniel Lacroix Signs as Assistant Coach for CHL Trenton Titans Affiliate of the New York Islanders
Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 04:09AM MLN Newswire - PRINCETON, N.J. – The New York Islanders of the National Hockey League announced that they have hired former Atlantic City left wing Daniel Lacroix as an assistant coach.
The general manager of the Islanders is Neil Smith, who is part of the Johnstown Chiefs ownership group and who has been the analyst on the ECHL All-Star Game telecast each of the past five years.
The Trenton Titans are the ECHL affiliate of the Islanders of the NHL and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
Lacroix played for Atlantic City in his final professional season, registering 18 points (5g-13a) and 166 penalty minutes in 31 regular season games and nine points (5g-4a) and 89 penalty minutes in 10 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs as the Bullies reached the conference finals in their inaugural season. He has been an assistant coach for Moncton in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League each of the past three years. Lacroix played seven seasons in the NHL with the Islanders, the New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Edmonton Oilers, recording 18 points (11g-7a) and 379 penalty minutes in 188 regular season games and one assist and 26 penalty minutes in 16 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
