San Jose Skyrockets to Launch in Minot, North Dakota as Minot Skyrockets, Part of CBA Restructuring - Basketball

MLN Newswire - ALBANY, NY (July 18, 2006): The Continental Basketball Association (CBA) announced today that the San Jose Skyrockets will be relocating to Minot, North Dakota.  The team will now be known as the Minot Skyrockets. The Skyrockets will call the Minot Municipal Auditorium home for the 2007-08 CBA season.

"Apex Sportstainment felt that Minot, North Dakota would be a great place for a CBA franchise," said Apex CEO Joe Clark. "The Minot area has a history of supporting basketball and the fan base that we expect will be outstanding. With the other Apex teams being placed in the Midwest, we felt that it was in our best interests to consolidate all of our teams here in the Midwest. Minot is a great city and we are excited as to the possibilities that it holds for us."

"We fully encourage the move to Minot," stated CBA Director of Operations Dennis Truax. "Minot has always been a basketball town and we are happy to be in Minot. This will give the Butte and Great Falls franchises a natural rival and make things interesting during the regular season."
