Corpus Christi Hooks Name Seamus Gallivan Director Of Ballpark Entertainment - Texas League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - NASHVILLE – Seamus (SHAY-mus) Gallivan is the new Director of Ballpark Entertainment for the Corpus Christi Hooks, General Manager Michael Wood announced Tuesday at the Winter Meetings.

Gallivan, 29, moves to Corpus Christi after three years in sales and ballpark entertainment with the Triple-A Round Rock Express, sister club of the Hooks underownership of Ryan-Sanders Baseball.

Before joining Round Rock’s sales force in 2006, Gallivan worked as a “mascot in street clothes” with the first Round Rock Party Patrol, a group of in-game entertainers at The Dell Diamond. He also held a leadership role in the ballpark’s Fun Zone, an interactive playground area for children from toddlers to pre-teens.

Gallivan played an integral role in game presentation at The Dell and will serve as the public address announcer at Whataburger Field. He succeeds Clint Musslewhite, now in a similar capacity at Round Rock.

“Seamus comes very highly recommended from Reid and Reese (Ryan) and the entire front office management team at Round Rock,” Wood said. “This was a very important hire for us and we’re excited about the energy, enthusiasm and ideas Seamus will bring to the Hooks.”

Gallivan began his career at 15 in the PR operation of his hometown Buffalo Bisons. After earning a BA in Communications from Canisius College in 2000, he worked for the Clearwater Phillies and El Paso Diablos.

An accomplished freelance writer, Gallivan represents the Express in the Austin and Leander Chambers of Commerce and the Town & Country Optimist Club. He serves on the Board of Directors of Austin’s Miracle League in addition to coaching a team.

“I learned so much from everybody in Round Rock and am thankful for the many opportunities Ryan-Sanders Baseball has given me,” Gallivan said. “I’m excited to contribute to the Corpus Christi and Coastal Bend communities.”

Gallivan starts in Corpus Christi just after the New Year.
