(Bakersfield, Calif., December 1, 2008) –The Bakersfield Jam, proud affiliate of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and Orlando Magic announced today that the organization has finalized agreements with five major corporate partners.
With the team already 2-0 at the start of the 2008-09 season, Jam owner David Higdon continues to press ahead with sponsorship negotiations, securing Golden West Casino, insurance company DiBuduo & DeFendis and three local television affiliates, FOX 58, KBAK 29 and KGET (NBC).
Golden West Casino will carry the “official” moniker and host post-game events for Jam fans. Golden West will also sponsor the in-game hostess’ to usher guests to seats, plus cater to court-side season-ticket holders as well. Golden West General Manager Randy Watkins is pleased to be associated with the highest level of sports in Kern County, saying, “We are very excited to partner with the Bakersfield Jam. They are a progressive, forward moving organization and share our vision to “offer the ultimate entertainment experience, while building lasting partnerships within our community”.
Local CBS/FOX affiliate KBAK-TV/KBFK-CA will now join forces with Rusty’s Pizza to co-sponsor the fabulously famous ‘Swish’, the Jam’s fox mascot. Speaking of the partnership at the 2008 NBADL draft, Cindi Dias, Sales Manager for the station said, “Swish brings instant name-recognition for a great community partner like the Bakersfield Jam. Having FOX 58 as a sponsor for the most famous professional fox –Swish - seemed a perfect fit.”
Another unique element of the agreement is that the Jam will be a sponsor of the station’s ‘Sky Cam’- a camera affixed to the top of the Jam’s new, state of the art practice facility that will be used to show aerial views of Bakersfield during the station’s newscasts. FOX 58 will also include the Jam as a co-sponsor of the station’s Cancer Fighters of Bakersfield” campaign.
The Jam’s local NBC affiliate, KGET will sponsor two game nights as well as display their logo on the rotational signage below the scorer’s table. Fresno (CA)-based insurance company DiBuduo & DeFendis will also be using the rotational signage application to grow their brand in the southern segment of the San Joaquin valley.
Higdon’s pace at the finish line of the sales season is in full stride as the Jam began regular season play last weekend, with wins over the LA Defenders and Reno Bighorns, respectively. “Everyday we are approached by the premier companies in Bakersfield to get involved at some level with the Bakersfield Jam. We will continue to add high profile companies to our sponsor portfolio like these four who have come on board the past few days. As a business owner it is a privilege to get to know these companies and to help them with their business objectives.”
The Jam will take on the Utah Flash tonight in Provo and then return to Bakersfield for their home opener on Wednesday, Dec. 3 against the LA Defenders.
